Frequently Asked Questions
Are there people who shouldn't take NUTRILITE
CLEARGUARD Dietary Supplement?
People allergic to any of the formula's active
ingredients – acerola cherry, cinnamon, or Spanish
needles – should not take this product. Pregnant
women should consult with their physician before
taking it. Anyone with a fever or stomach or duodenal
ulcers should avoid taking this product.
During the clinical study, were there any
reports of drowsiness or sleeplessness by
participants?
Although not specifically asked, in the clinical study
none of the participants reported either increased
drowsiness or increased sleeplessness.
How is CLEARGUARD different from or similar to
echinacea?
Echinacea and CLEARGUARD are very different products
and should be used for different reasons. Echinacea
works by activating the immune system to help better
recognize and fight off germs. CLEARGUARD works by
inhibiting the release of histamine.
How long does it take for CLEARGUARD to work?
CLEARGUARD has been shown to work in three days or
less.
Can I stop taking my other brand?
Consult your health-care provider before making any
changes.
What does "synergistically" mean?
Synergy is the interaction of two or more ingredients
that results in a greater effect than the total of
their separate effects. The phytonutrients in
CLEARGUARD work synergistically, for an enhanced
combined effect.
Why do I have to stop taking CLEARGUARD after
12 weeks?
It's a precautionary measure. CLEARGUARD contains
cinnamon, which the American Herbal Products
Association* classifies as “not for long-term
use.” For this reason, and since CLEARGUARD is
designed to be taken for occasional sniffles and
sneezes NUTRILITE scientists recommend interrupting
your use of CLEARGUARD after 12 weeks. Our scientists
also chose a water-based cinnamon, to reduce the
chance of it building up in your body. We anticipate
that after a week or more of discontinuing your use of
CLEARGUARD, the cinnamon constituents will be washed
out of your system. Then, if your nose continues to be
stuffy, you can resume using CLEARGUARD.
